Serafina and the Twisted Staff by Robert Beatty

I was excited to get back into the Serafina books. It has been more than three years since I first read and reviewed Serafina and the Black Cloak so I ‘reread’ the book by listening to the audiobook before listening to Serafina and the Twisted Staff. It was worth the time. Cassandra Campbell, the narrator for the Serafina series, is genuinely talented. She made the books come alive as she is a master with pacing, dialects, accents, and characterization. Campbell gave a completely professional reading of the stories.

A Baxter Family Christmas by Karen Kingsbury

A Baxter Family Christmas is a sweet clean read.  A beautiful book to snuggle up with in front of the fireplace, the Christmas lights twinkling in the background, while you sip on a warm mug of hot cocoa (or my favorite… Russian tea).  It is like reading a Hallmark movie.  FYI… I mean that in the very best sense.  I love Hallmark movies!
